WEAVING STORIES. COOKING DREAMS.

WEAVING STORIES. COOKING DREAMS.

TAARANYI x GEORGIANA VIOU

We came to know Georgiana Viou gradually, over the course of several meaningful encounters. First through her culinary book Le Goût de Cotonou, then at her restaurant Rouge in Nîmes, and once again during an event in Paris.
With every exchange, she revealed a deeper part of herself.

A strong, grounded, and gentle woman. A Michelin-starred chef. That conveys stories through feeling and intuition.

Something about her struck a deep chord within us.

At Taaranyi, we seek to create dialogue between cultures through textiles.
With Georgiana, it was a human and artistic dialogue that emerged — about origins, creativity, and stories. It wasn’t planned. It wasn’t strategic. It was natural.

This sincere encounter gave rise to a collection of three scarves.

LE JARDIN

This scarf is an ode to ingredients — those that awaken the chef's culinary inspiration.
A garden infused with influences from African and European soils, with a touch of Provence.
It brings together nature’s most vibrant offerings: fish, shellfish, lobster, rosemary, hibiscus, truffle, wild  garlic, okra... Noble or humble ingredients, gathered in an imaginary marketplace — a reflection of the chef’s curious and free-spirited gaze.
A tribute to origins, to sensory journeys, and to the beauty of all that grows, swims, and breathes.

LECHE

Inspired by one of Georgiana Viou’s dishes, this scarf celebrates her cuisine as a living form of art.
Born from a plate that evolves with each bite, guided by the seasons and instinct, it honors a free and vibrant composition: raw fish, citrus, vegetables, coconut milk, ginger, Espelette pepper, palm oil, fresh herbs…
This scarf captures the essence of a generous, spontaneous, and deeply creative cuisine.
A visual journey that awakens the senses before the first bite.

LA DAME AU CHAPEAU

A modern-day Amazone, beneath her wide-brimmed hat, she watches the world in silence — yet never without impact.
Perseverance (Wawa Aba),
fearlessness (Pempamsie), courage and heroism (Akofena), intelligence (Nyansapo) and love (Duafe) are the discreet Adinkra symbols she carries, rooted in her like an unspoken language.
A tribute to those heroines who move through the world with grace and conviction, guided by their values and a quiet strength.
And one cannot forget Tassi Hangbé, the Benin Amazone...

But beyond the object, what we wanted most was to share the intention.
What lies at the origin of the form.
What remains once the fabric has been laid down.

Thank you to Georgiana for her trust.
Thank you to you for bringing these stories to life.
